First see whether your project is covered. Then answer three questions and see what the building emits — and which choices move the number most.
Calculates in the building regulations' own unit: kg CO₂e per m² per year over 50 years, with the official limit values and energy factors. It is a screening on key figures, not the carbon calculation the municipality needs.
Three answers cannot describe a building. Each item is calculated with a benchmark figure for the way of building you have chosen — those are the ones set out below. The figures are calibrated continuously against full LCAbyg calculations on SYNEGRO's own projects.

The requirements in the building regulations are differentiated by building type and tighten twice. Your building type is marked.

The building must also keep to a separate limit for the construction process. It is included in the figure above, but is checked on its own in the full calculation.
The requirement applies to new build and extensions (BR18 ss. 297–298). Extensions below 250 m² to detached single-family houses, terraced, linked and semi-detached houses, farmhouses and holiday homes are exempt, and the area is calculated for each dwelling separately. The same applies to unheated buildings below 50 m². Extensions to institutions, blocks of flats and commercial buildings are covered regardless of size. Holiday homes of 150 m² and above have the same limit as detached houses.
The screening covers the modules that go into the limit value: the manufacture of the materials, transport to the site, the site itself, replacements along the way, the operational energy and disposal — calculated over 50 years.
It does not, on the other hand, calculate on your actual quantities, does not use environmental product declarations for the specific products and does not measure the area under the building regulations' rules. All three have to be in place before a calculation can be submitted to the municipality.
SYNEGRO carries out the full carbon calculation under the building regulations: your own quantities, official climate data, validation against LCAbyg and a report that is ready for the completion notification.

About the basis. The limit values are the building regulations' own, with the adopted tightenings in 2027 and 2029. The operational energy is calculated with the official emission factors for electricity and district heating up to 2075. The key figures per building element are SYNEGRO's benchmark figures and are calibrated against full LCAbyg calculations. The result is indicative and cannot be used as documentation for the authorities.
